When the pandemic hit and the world was in chaos, the princess and I made a bold move and decided to trade in the city life for a tree change. In April 2020, right in the midst of the first lockdown, we found a beautiful property in Bowral NSW and made it our own. Fast forward two years, and we’re loving every minute of our new life in the sticks.

As an artist, I’ve always been inspired by my surroundings, and this new place – which we’ve dubbed “Sanler” (a combination of our last names, Sanchez and Kahler) – has definitely got my creative juices flowing. I’ve been so busy building my new studio (the house just wasn’t big enough for all my artistic ambitions) that I haven’t even had time to pick up a paintbrush! But with the help of the princess, we were able to design and build a truly inspirational space that will no doubt be the birthplace of many a masterpiece. Can’t wait to see what I create here.
